SB Payment Service Corp. (“SBPS”), a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp., will start offering embedded multi-payment solutions Payment services for in-stores provided by SBPS from March 24, 2022. By incorporating a built-in multi-payment solution into self-checkout machines, automatic payment machines, ticket vending machines, etc., store operators can create an environment where customers can make non-contact and non-face-to-face payments, in line with the trends of the times. It is possible to realize the maintenance of various payment methods.
Embedded multi-payment solutions have been pre-installed at facilities such as Abeno Harukas, Sunshine Aquarium, and Ueno Zoo in Tokyo.

Due to the prolonged effects of the new coronavirus infection, the need for non-contact and non-face-to-face cashless payments is increasing year by year, and stores and facilities are required to support various payment methods that are not bound by cash. According to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the DI * 1 for excess and deficiency of employees in 2021 is -10.0 in the retail industry and -18.3 in the service industry, and there is an urgent need to take measures against labor shortages. SBPS has begun offering embedded multi-payment solutions to help solve the serious labor shortages of stores and facilities and help promote digital transformation (DX).

About embedded multi-payment solution

You can choose from two types of payment solutions according to the business format and business scale of the business operator.

• ・ "UPT1000": Can be incorporated into vending machines and ticket vending machines
• ・ "Verifone P400": Not only can it be incorporated into automatic checkout machines, but it can also be linked with POS cash registers.
