<Survey results>
While "PayPay (Online Payment)" and "RakutenPay(Online)" are making rapid progress as payment methods often used on EC sites, the use of "CVS Payment" and "cash on delivery" is decreasing due to the growing need for non-contact due to the Korona-ka. tendency

When asked about the payment methods that are often used when purchasing goods or digital contents on EC sites, the first place for both men and women is "Credit Card Payment" (60% or more), and the second place is "PayPay (Online Payment)" (about). 20%).

Compared to the results of similar surveys conducted twice in the past (FY2018 and FY2020), the percentage of people who choose "Credit Card Payment" is decreasing year by year when purchasing both goods and digital content. The percentage of "PayPay (Online Payment)" has increased to over 20%. Furthermore, the percentage of "RakutenPay(Online)" has increased year by year, exceeding 10%, indicating that QR code payment, which can be used both online and in real life, is becoming more popular. On the other hand, payment methods that require face-to-face payment, such as "CVS Payment" and "cash on delivery," are on the decline due to the growing need for non-contact due to Korona-ka.

"PayPay (Online Payment)" "CVS Payment" "BNPL(Buy now pay later)" has a high affinity with product sales sites x women, and "Mobile Carrier Billing" has a high affinity with digital content sites x men and women

When asked about the payment methods they use most when purchasing goods on EC sites, "Credit Card Payment" was chosen the most among men and women of all ages. Among teenage men, the percentage of "Credit Card Payment" is "CVS Payment" and "PayPay (Online Payment)" It is not much different from the percentage of credit cards, and the percentage of people who have credit cards is also low, so it can be seen that the payment methods that can be easily used is spreading. On the other hand, as the age increases, " The percentage of "Credit Card Payment" tends to be high, and among men in their 60s, the proportion of "Credit Card Payment" is 86% It can be seen that there is a strong popularity. In addition, for women of all ages, "PayPay (Online Payment)" and "CVS Payment" are "Credit Card Payment" It is second only to "BNPL(Buy now pay later)" and it turns out that there is a tendency to prefer "".

When I asked why I chose the payment methods I use the most, "Credit Card Payment" said "I can pay in installments" and "I don't have to worry about the balance" There are voices such as "PayPay (Online Payment)" and "RakutenPay(Online)" In terms of "high redemption rate", "there is a cashback campaign", "points are earned", "CVS Payment", "cash on delivery", "I do not want to use Kureka from the viewpoint of security" and "I do not have a credit card" were raised.

When asked about the most used payment methods when purchasing digital content, "Credit Card Payment" was the most selected for all age groups, as was the case when purchasing goods. In addition, "Mobile Carrier Billing", which allows payment together with mobile phone charges, is ranked high among men and women in their 20s, women in their 30s, men and women in their 40s, and men and women in their 50s, and has a high affinity with digital content sites. I understand. "PayPay (Online Payment)" is also ranked high in all age groups, especially for teenage men, the ratio of "PayPay (Online Payment)" is very high at 22.4%, and "Credit Card Payment" (23.9%). It seems that it is used at almost the same rate as.

When asked why they chose the most used payment methods, "Credit Card Payment" means "it doesn't take much time because the card is registered in advance", "accumulate miles", and "Mobile Carrier Billing" means "card number etc." While it is selected because it is easier and more secure than a credit card to enter, and because payments are added up and smooth, some people say that they are choosing "bank transfer" because they are "resistant to new things". was.

Compared to 2018, the ratio of "Credit Card Payment" has decreased sharply, and the use of "PayPay (Online Payment)", "ID payment" and "other QR code payment" has accelerated.

Comparing with the results of a survey of the most used payment methods in the past two times (FY2018 and FY2020), the percentage of "Credit Card Payment" was in FY2021 regardless of whether the goods or digital contents were purchased. It has decreased sharply to about 60%, and the tendency to use other payment methods is accelerating. In addition, "PayPay (Online Payment)" has overtaken "CVS Payment", which has been the second largest on the product sales site. On digital content sites, the ratio of "Mobile Carrier Billing" exceeds that of "PayPay (Online Payment)", "ID payment", and "other QR code payment", and it can be seen that the introduction of a wide variety of payment methods is required.

Approximately 60% of men and women leave without purchasing if there is no payment methods that they often use

When asked what to do when purchasing goods or digital content on an EC site and there is no payment methods that is often used, more than 60% of both men and women on the product sales site, about 60% of men and about 55% of women on the digital content site. , I found that the EC site tends to leave without purchasing. Since these results continue to show similar trends from FY2018, we believe that the introduction of payment methods is one of the important factors in the operation of EC sites. Businesses that operate e-commerce sites may be able to increase the purchase rate of consumers by having the above-mentioned commonly used payment methods.

Increasing frequency of online shopping due to demand for nesting and new lifestyles

When asked if there was a change in the frequency of purchases on the EC site during the year 2021 compared to 2020, more than 50% of teenage men and women answered that they had "increased" on the product sales site, and more than 25% in other age groups. Answered "increased". Even on digital content sites, the percentage of "increased" and "decreased" has increased more than 2.4 times throughout the age group. Women in their twenties, in particular, seem to buy the most digital content of all ages. In 2021, it is thought that the number of people who use online shopping for the demand for nesting and new lifestyles has increased due to the influence of refraining from going out due to the Korona-ka.

SB Payment Service provides many essential payment methods for EC sites as a PSP. If you are a business that wants to start an online business or want to expand the lineup of payment methods, please contact SB Payment Service.
