SoftBank Corp. 's subsidiary SB Payment Service Corp. (Tokyo: Minato-ku, President and CEO: Jun Shimba, hereinafter "SBPS") today announced that it has acquired all shares issued by IT Realize Inc. (Tokyo: Shinagawa-ku, CEO: Hideyuki Hongo, hereinafter "ITR"), making it a wholly owned subsidiary as of April 18, 2025.

Significance and purpose of becoming a wholly owned subsidiary

In Japan, the shift to cashless payments has progressed at a remarkable pace due to national and local government policies and changes in consumer awareness, but cashless payments and digital transformation (DX) among sole proprietors and small and medium-sized enterprises have yet to make much progress. The reasons for this include the high costs of implementing cashless payment systems, the burden of their operation, and a shortage of human resources in the digital technology field.

In this environment, SBPS, which provides payment services for online and face-to-face transactions across a wide range of industries, and ITR, which provides IT support and application services to financial institutions, will be able to meet diverse needs in both payment and financial services by combining their respective strengths in technology and services. By promoting cashless payments and providing digital transformation services in both payment and finance, we will create an environment that allows sole proprietors and small and medium-sized enterprises to increase their competitiveness in the digital age and provide further value.
